講   題： An Integrative Study of Oral Cavity Squamous Cell Carcinoma

摘    要：
The genetic components of oral cancer are not well understood since it is a 
disease greatly affected by the environment. Our main purpose is to identify 
potential biomarkers that can suggest proper treatments through the integration of 
genomic data. SNP markers are genotyped with Affymetrix SNP 6.0 arrays for 
112 patients and 10 normal control samples. A set of CNVs on chromosome 8 
are identified to be linked to the increased risk of second primary tumor 
development. In addition, gene expression is profiled for 57 out of the 112 
patients as well as 8 out of the 10 controls. An extra set of 14 normal samples 
are also measured for gene expression. It gives enormous variation detected by 
the high-quality Affymetrix Exon1.0ST arrays. The observation reflects the 
common phenomena that most regulatory modules of tumor samples are out of 
control at the late stage of the tumor. Some of them are the cause of the disease 
while a big proportion of them are the consequence of the disease. The belief of 
central dogma of genetics leads to the natural constraint that any effective DNA 
variation should transmit its signal through gene expression. Therefore, a 
potential strategy is to look for gene expression that is also associated with the 
CNVs we detected from tumors. A model based approach is implemented to 
construct the regulatory network by combining all the data.
