講   題： Exploring complex interactions in genomic data

摘    要：
Gene-gene interaction networks in microarray gene expression were often 
derived from similarity studies between gene expression profiles using analysis 
on correlation coefficients, clustering, or alike. These methods were inadequate 
for discovering complex nonlinear patterns of interaction. Recently we have 
developed an on-line bio-computing system based on the new statistical concept 
of liquid association (LA). LA measures the change in correlation between a 
pair of variables as mediated by a third variable. Some examples of LA 
application will be presented to illustrate its potential to discover novel 
genomic and genetic interactions.
